World record and aviation milestone: The first ever remote-controlled human flight, achieved by two MODEL helis effortlessly lifting a grown-up person. Most people thought this was never possible. However, one more time it has been proven that with both a solid project planning and an in-depth understanding of helicopter technology even such complex stunts can be performed successfully. Models were two standard 700 size helis (rotor diameter 1.61 m only!), all specs and details below.
It took well over 4 months, many thousand euros of our private money (this is just our hobby), huge logistics and countless test flights to achieve this milestone. Now, before anyone feels called to speak disrespectfully about tech specs, safety, etc. please check out the additional info below. This project was not done out of a whim – it’s a solid team work!

If we had just one dollar for every time we were told that this was NEVER
possible and that it must all be fake, then we’d be rich by now. However,
it has been proven one more time that with a solid project planning and an
in-depth understanding of helicopter technology even such complex stunts
can be performed safely.

*Some interesting TECH SPECS:*
In the video you can see many interesting aspects concerning the HULC
flights. The first one is how stable the whole construction flies. Note
that even coordinated movements where the payload is flown to the front,
then back and to the front again, are possible.
Second, note how fast both helis maneuver into the ropes. This is necessary
to not lose time and battery capacity for the flights. Max. flight times
were over 40 seconds. Longest flight in the video is 33 seconds (uncut).
Oscillations sometimes build up, but we’ve trained how to deal with them
during many many test flights, also in reduced scale with 500 size helis.
Although it works great and we never had a single incident, every flight is
still an adventure.

So as far as i am awayre, i saw a test, someone tested their Trex700. it
held about 45 pounds. so 2 Trex+ 70/80 pound woman+ 2 pounds per rope…
no it’s legit.

What motor is this? Are they custom re-rewired?
Insanely dangerous R/C helicopter stunt performed with zero safely margins,
yet made to look like everyday fun. Do NOT try this at home. OMG. So many
things could have gone wrong, so easily. (I know. I fly these machines.
‘nuf said.) Glad no one got hurt. Oh and umm, pretty damned cool though
eh?! :-P
