Robert Hathaway says:

Can you do a multirotor beginner series?

Helium says:

why do so many people praise Spektrum radios? To me, it’s so overpriced

SunSon29 says:

Ok, to flight a 3d heli, how many channels transmitter I need?

nordemoniac says:

For a beginner, I bought the HK6S from HobbyKing, excellent transmitter,
1KM+ range.
For more advanced features, the Taranis X9D Plus is excellent! Rechargeable
battery, telemetry, and all knobs and switches can be assigned to whatever
you want :)

Bill Somrak says:

When I first started in R/C, the transmitters were on 27mhz, between the 23
CB channels. A simple transmitter had an on/off switch, and a push button
to send out a tone. One press gave you right, press/release/press & hold =
left. My 1st TX had tubes in it, and required a big 1.5 v battery for the
heaters in the tubes, and three 67.5 volt batteries for the high voltage.
After many years and many systems, I wound up with digital proportional
radios on 72 mhz .. which I still have (but haven’t used in some years). I
found your video to be very informative … now I’m sort of back up to
speed!

thayne559 says:

what is the typical range of 2.4 Ghz systems?

Tater79bj says:

Is it just me, or does young Josh always look a little baked? No offense
intended, just noticed it in all the videos lol. Love your show by the way
;)

Bronco Surveillance says:

Outstanding presentation gentlemen. I am designing and building a plane and
this information will come in handy. You have answered all my questions.
Thanks I will be buying your speed builds for my kids. Time together and
satisfaction at the end of the build.

Bill Williams says:

Found a part of my problem, I’ve been using a flight simulator and got lazy
with preflight checks. I now check before every take off both on the sim
and in real life. I think it’s a good habit to develop.

PUREspeedpwnd says:

Don”t some RTF come with their own receivers? How does a transmitter say
FrSky connect to on of those receivers?

Camden Cobalt says:

Okay, so say that you get a 6 ch. transmitter……What happens as far as
the range? Do you connect the transmitter to a ground station as one that
is used in FPV so extend the range of the plane? OR is the ground station
for the range of the camera?

Ultra rc says:

For all of you noobs just get something like a dx6i, or I recommend a dx6
(new) it has way more features and works with all bind and flys and if you
are scratch building get some cheap orange rc (dsm2 or dsmx) receivers not
worth going for the real receivers except for planes that you care more
for. If you are a tinkerer/bulder get spekrum, computerised radio. People
will convince you that other bands are better but it is all personal
preference. To buy a radio and have some fun!!

Codyhood6 says:

how many models can the Spektrum 5-channel DX5e hold

Nico Kruger says:

Very good explanation of DR & Expo… was one of the toughest things to
learn when i started.

Bill Williams says:

I had an interesting experience today, I took my plane and transmitter and
promptly crashed on take off damaging my plane. The aileron and rudder
controls on my DX6i had reverse! The plane is in hospital… the shed, and
I can’t imagine how this happened as no “playing around” had occurred
between the simulator and the flying field. I’m a beginner, and could not
work it out until I got home and realized the problem via the simulator!
By the way, I failed the preflight check…Dah!

Ryan O'Shea says:

Hey Flite test I bought one of the transmitters on your parts list and it
came with a receiver. I can’t find out how to link the two could you
possible make a video or just tell me how?

Sara Bobby says:

Thanks great video now everything make sense

Ang Low Tah says:

10:12 what was it? Telemetri?

DarkMatterLP1 says:

So guys (the guys from Ft and the comment section), i Need Somerset help. I
Need a 6+ Channel transmitter which i can Order from Amazon (just Amazon no
more). I Need to be able to mix the control surfaces (i fly a Lot of flying
wings) and it needs to have swappable transmitter modules. Thank you. Just
answer this comment:)))

George Herrera says:

Please show us how to setup SAFE in a DX6.

Adithya G says:

Which Transmitter is best for a Kraken ?

tyrone robinson says:

Hay I just started this hobby and I just bought a jjrc h8 beginners
quadcopter and I want a different transmitter and I want too be able to
work it right out of the box what transmitter should I go with 6ch
hopefully

TheMineCastHD says:

hmm 🙁 on Ebay my transmitter said mode 2 now im stuck with mode 1 :(

PUNCAKES! says:

Is a dx6i a good remote for an begginer / intermedient pilot

racerx1326 says:

Great video but it would have been nice if you mentioned the different
protocols and what to look for when buying a transmitter/receiver. What’s
the difference between dsm2, dsmx, futuba whatever?

Camden Cobalt says:

So if I want to go to FPV in the future, what would you suggest? I think I
would need to extend the range, such as an unscrew able antenna?

seylom ayivi says:

Great Series, thank you guys!

Petr Vesely says:

Turnigy 9x best beginner radio ever!

mariobeans says:

best low cost transmitter for a wltoys 212?

Shady King says:

which radio and receiver would you recommend me? i have a FlyLite 3 Channel
Beginners airplane.. please reply

David Nicolella says:

can you use a 4 channel transmitter with a 3 channel plane? Please help.

Ndude Pytc says:

Are the spectrum transmitters any better than the Futaba transmitters?

TheMineCastHD says:

I have the hobbyking orange 6 channel R620 And im useing this transmitter:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-4GHz-Radio-Control-System-6-Channel-TX-RX-2-4G-G61-/140438290475?&quantity=1&autorefresh=true

Will it work? or will it only work with the one it comes with? Is this a
good transmitter or is the orange hobbyking one better?

Sergei Bogomolov says:

To activate “drunk mode” choice 0.5 speed :D

Kulekrutt says:

I’m new to rc stuff, so i’m wondering, will a 5 channel transmitter work on
a 3 channel plane?

Melker Ekströmer says:

Hi, I really like all your videos! The other day i got a fpv monitor,
wonderfull piece of equipment, anymay, i unboxed it and plugged in the
battery, sadly then i realized i just forgot to mount the antennas on top
of it, will this damage my 300dolllar monitor?

ardrie says:

ok mr bixler, you sure know your stuff, sensational video amazing

Tilman Baumann says:

The main reason to buy a dumb non computerised radio is price.
But this argument is invalid since radios like the Tunigy 9X(R) and FrSky
Taranis exist.

The only reason I can see for dumb radios is that someone would not want to
get into programming (you are wrong. It’s worth it) or want the simplicity
(why?.

Billy Thomas says:

Can someone tell me about a good transmitter (under $100) that is very easy
and that I can use on my try copter I am building.

kabamaRu1990yo says:

i want to buy one for a tricopter .. how many channels do i need? just for
basics?

sean foley says:

you two are definautly stoners …. the one on the left is fucking annoying
talking through his nose.. you irratating fuck

Charles Philippe says:

At 11 minutes on was more helpful then plenty of videos I hope they get
into Quadcopter’s and does there explanation on everything there way
because it was excellent explanations.

ThunderWiring says:

im looking for a joystick control like the ones on the rc radio
transmitters. i couldn’t find any on ebay..any idea where can i get a pair
of those?

DarkMatterLP1 says:

Some*

Tcamp says:

How do I find out what distances I can achieve with radios and receivers?
Finding information on exchangeable modules in radios and types of
receivers that have different antennas, proves hard. I see reviews about
quality and what you can do with it but finding information about how the
components work and the compatibly is hard to find

Chris Witzel says:

Now I feel old. Still using my Hitec 72mhz transmitters for my three
planes. And I want to buy some of the bind n fly planes that are out now
but only have a 2.4ghz that came with my blade heli. Anyone know if the
mini war birds would bind to that remote?

PHeMoX says:

For what it’s worth… do not buy a Spektrum brand radio. Yes, it’s
generally beginner friendly and cheap choice, but it’s underlying tech is
simply unreliable compared to other frequency hopping systems. Get Futaba,
Hitec or Multiplex radio instead, far more reliable. More expensive
receivers ARE WORTH YOUR MONEY! Spektrum receivers are hugely overpriced,
don’t be fooled.

Also, you (or at least intermediate pilots) should not get a radio with
less than 6 channels. If you already know you’re serious about RC and want
to fly more complicated planes or helicopters in the future, grab an 8 (or
9) channel radio like the Hitec Aurora. Invest in a GOOD radio. It will
REALLY save you money.

It’s not true that transmitters in the past couldn’t communicate with
different receivers. They used crystals that have to match in number both
in the receiver and transmitter, but that didn’t limit the amount of
aircraft or even kind of aircraft you could control with these older
transmitters. I used to have a lot of crystals for my receivers that would
match my old 35mhz and 72mhz systems. The only thing it did NOT have, was
some kind of memory to store various ‘tweaks’ to my setup (back in the day,
usually those non-digital trims).

Also, it’s really somewhat inaccurate to state that 72Mhz gives a ‘much
longer range’ in practice. What good is a slightly longer range when it’s a
lot more vulnerable to all kinds of interference? 72Mhz these days is a
definite no-go in urban areas.

falconeaterf15 says:

I’m an Alien from the planet Guzbuliah. Thanks to my advanced telepathic
abilities I am able to fly all types of aircraft with no radios whatsoever.
I carry a 7 channel Futaba around at the field, but there are no batteries
in it! Someday humans may evolve this ability but I doubt it.
Can’t wait for Topgun this year. I’m gonna kick ass!
Long live Guzbuliah!

Brian Martinez says:

which is the cheapest transmitter that comes with a LCD display to view
camera in real time? also, can one transmitter be used for helicopters and
planes?
