This video is in response to numerous requests on how I build molds. Next time I build a mold from scratch, I’ll document the whole process with video.

I live in italy, do you think making planes like this could turn out
profitable? maybe selling them to hobby king europe? thanks, great video!

I watched the whole build serie, and although I probably have 2.000
questions, I just wanted to thank you.

BTW, there’s a quite funny part somewhere, where you say “I don’t do
(this), because I’m lazy”. Well… I strongly disagree ;)

Good job on this video. I would suggest maybe you could substitute hydrocal
for the sand epoxy mixture. Gypsum cement Hydrocal is about $25 for a 50 lb
bag. If you’re only going to pull a couple of parts you can even skip the
tool coat and just treat the mold with some coats of epoxy, wax and mold
release. As per Terry Luckenbach.
I use it to make fiberglass cowls.

Nice video! We need more people like you in our hobby!

Excellent legup for anybody who is thinking along those lines. In your
video you mentioned bladders. Could you show a video using them? The sleek
lines of the electric racers really benefit from that kind of technique for
the fuselarges. I’m a bit old school an made heaps of fuselarges but none
using bladders.

Good job, it always nice to see how others are building there racers.
Another resource that if found is BobTv (B-1 Bob). Check it out on YouTube
or the net. He has an awesome continues build series posting new videos
every few days.

what is the wood you are using for the plug

Jon Finch says:

I glue up a couple (or more) 3/4″ birch boards then rip to the correct size
and shape. Then paint and polish.
