I suppose you are correct – in away.
I am 72 years and do not contribute much to the Irish Tax office,
We had a somewhat similar problem as you.
But of cause the German Pilots flying these planes …
This has been a problem. You correctly spotted the strut problem.
Actually, this was properly fastened.I and others checked id because the
same builder/pilot had a similar crach 12 monts earlier with the same model
built from the same kit.
Having investigated we found that the un-experienced builder followed the
instruction correctly, but there was a flaw in the ancher point of the
struts in both wings! Balsa , not ply or hardwood will not stand up to the
flight!
Hi built a larger one using a different supplier, but to date he is
affright to put it to the air!!!
You are correct.
What I see as positive is the fact, that the safety controll and
instructions where followed.
That’s why nothing happened near the spectators.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Fred
Thank you for watching

I don’t like to see peoples hard work and effort being damaged, but, it is
part of RC model life. The camera footage was of very good quality, and I
watched it through. It showed how much hard work goes into a days pleasure!
It is a Piper Super Cub model built from a comercial kit, all wood.
This was about Year 1998 and I can not remember who the supplier of the kit
was.
Greetings Fred
You are correct McCann.
They are older videos, but I selected for this one only the unfortunate or
silly mistakes leading to crashes..
Overall flying even in the 80’s was of high quality.
Even at the TOC in Las Vegas I recorded every two years crashes. And there
the best 20 pilots of the World competed.
Thanks for watching and sending your comments.
Fred
Thank you for watching my video!
It was a 2-day event and plenty planes went hpme without a scratch!
You are correct, it is a difficult place for non locals to land on.A hill
with vortexes appearing unexpectedly.
look at this clip:

Great comment!
Greetings, Fred
I know it can be difficult flying rc planes sometimes but these guys flying
big models and fast models should be on top of their job ,unfortunately
they did some pretty stupid things and lost their planes .they should know
better ..??
Clearly NOT a bird strike, unless those birds are the size of eagles. Slow
motion also makes it painfully obvious that the birds are flying BEHIND the
model which si flying away from the camera not towards, so a bird strike is
not an possaiblity here.
Why do all Scale R/C pilots kinda suck at actually flying? This question
has haunted me over the years of watching youtube crash compilations. So
many tip stalls, bouncy landings, etc. Is it because they have become
near-sighted from working with magnifying glasses so long?
Was this all at one gathering? Anyone fly that didn’t crash?
Ok seriously that grass strip is not RC friendly and unless my eyes were
deceiving me some of the planes encountered downdrafts. But I’m glad most
were not too serious.
Unfortunately the pilot did not want the wreckage videoed, so there is no
definite proof either way.
However, you are not alone with your assessment
Thank you for watching, regards Fred
If you are too slow to react to your airplane getting out of control, then
you are flying above your ability level, or not flying enough to keep in
practice. As long as no people are injured, this is not a problem. Quite a
bunch of rc pilots never focus adequately on correct adjustment and
functioning of model airplane control systems, on understanding basic
aerodynamics, nor learning to effectively program their transmitters.
Sometimes enough fun can still be had by occasional fleeting moments of
being airborne…….and fellowship with others.
Have look at these two clips on the very large A380 RC model. It flew
before the Real one and drawings where supplied by Airbus Industries!

i guess this really is one of those expensive hobbies, better stick to
kerbal space program.
That last one – did he not attach the struts??
Awesome film

15:10 Don’t you hate it when your plane gives itself a high-five? 🙂 Nice
video there mate!
You people should be working not playing!
Who’s going to cover my Big Fat Greek pension?

Love seeing the Aussie Boomerang 🙂 awesome little plane
There is no bird strike but there is a nice landing on 8:26
Has anyone ever told you you sound near exactly like Giovanni Giorgio
Moroder?
Never good to see planes come down bad. Lots of work and research in each
one!! So sad!!

watch the vid carefully … definitely NO birdstrike :)
Moral of the story flying from grassy fields bordered by wired fences is
too much fun?

What makes some of the worst modelers build so large models? Dangerous
place to be.
Congratulations to the pilot with Airbus A340, great landing.
No birds were harmed in the making of this video
