Just got it back. Here's a quick update. I just want to be clear. My biggest complaint is the way HPI handled this breakdown. They accused me of burning up the esc by using the wrong battery and then making me PAY to ship their defective product!!!! If this truck last like my other cars and trucks...I'll be happy with it. I DON'T PLAN ON BUYING ANY HPI products anytime soon. THERE are too many options out there, =] Thanks for watching.

Tybo. I first watched this 1yr ago and felt bad for you btw, so i decided
to buy the kit and got screwed to! instead of getting a tf-40 radio system
with 3 channel epa they boxed it with a tf-11 system 2 channel no epa that
looks toy grade like tyco and nikko and i called them up and they said i
would have to ship it to them and they would give me a tf 40 but cost me 30
bucks with no rembursment lol jeez hpi seems to be on a roll with people
like me and you.
Hey tybo. I just noticed that your antenna was running threw your esc fan,
i was hearing some noise when you fired it up, I know that was like 3 years
ago i was wondering if you noticed that? i’m sure hpi did that not you. Oh
and btw i got them to send me the tf40 radio system for free! just had to
threaten not to buy from them again them being hpi and hobbico haha.
(Justice)….. but all kidding aside it was the right thing to do since
they false advertised it.

Yeah that’s the first thing I got was a wheelie bar before I even used the
truck. I also modified the antenna it shouldn’t be that long for 2.4ghz
system, also I figured out how to adjust the front end toe because out of
the box the wheels and tires are really pitched outward so I brought them
in to square it looks a lot better then it did.
but even on 3s its still a fast little machine
Yeah it does and everyone is basically against me but I’ve thought about
and to hell with it i’m going to keep the truck. Do you still have yours?
If so what hop ups have you done? I went ahead and ordered the sway bar kit
for it.
you must be running like a 4s in that thing to make it go that fast,
because i dont think three cell has that power
Same thing happen with my KB wr8 flux, I had it not even 4 months and ESC
burned out.

@atltybo Yea. But in total that’s around 700-900$. Only because the bigger
one doesn’t come with the battery for the car. Those are around 150 for a
hpi one. That’s a lot for a 15 year old. Any recommendations on trucks?

What is the update on your HPI SAVAGE XS did, so it does not burn over the
ESC? I’m with the same problem and I bought another ESC and he burned
again, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

said there wasn’t anything they could do about it. we had to give a refund
to the customer. and to add insult to injury, HPI said they were shipping
stuff off to us to help compensate for our loss, it was 10 pounds of their
latest catalog.
my esc runs fine now. both 2s and 3s. no problems since it was replaced. i
think you should call hpi about that i don’t think it should be doing that
on 2s. about the wheelie bar…someone commented on this video about where
you can get one. i can’t find it….have a look.

dude dont use 3s..everyone i have seen using 3s has broke there truck.

Thanks for the video on xs flux sounds like if I were guessing what might
of caused u to send it in, u pointed at the main lead wires of the esc… I
think the solder was light and two of the wires touched due to heat
weakening the connection to the leads… More than 5 posts say the same
thing in early productions I hope hpi fixed it bc I’m looking at this truck
to get… Just a thought though…. Video rocks
Thats why i bought the KIT because i dont want the sc burning because i
lost my blitz because the lipo caught on fire:(( NOW iam waiting for the XS
ss I bought a 7700kv a 4s lipoand a dx2s (spektrum) ad savoz HT srvo. THATS
GOOD RIGHTT?
I bought this POS as my first RC truck, total waste… Now I have a summit
and not one thing has broken on it yet compared to the DOZENS of thing to
break on the flux XS.
u should put the d- box from hpi on that? well have alot more fun?help tame
that allout power. i put one on my new xo-1 works good at helping out that
rear drift on hispeed runs. 4 of 5 kits from traxsas here messed up my xo1
came without bats hold downs??? beat my 2 3 s lipos all up. they just dont
care about q control no more???? so after spending over grand they couldnt
get it right . traxas wants me to buy anouther kit there going to have to
pay me off,cause im done for good with them …

Now I think my motor is broke for some reason it pulses sometimes when I
give it gas and I read on line that when it pulses there is a broke coil in
it. When my esc was heating up I think it was the motors fault because
someone in another video posted that when his motor went out his esc was
heating up really fast. I am thinking about calling hpi or the seller I got
it from because It shouldn’t have broke when I was using a 2s lipo when it
is 3s capable.
