Traxxas XO1 with Kershaw Designs 8s set-up. Castle XL2 ESC, Leopard motor, Nanotech 5000mah 65c 2x4s lipo’s, and verified by Garmin forerunner 101 GPS. You can see my launch was very poor (car not tracking straight out of the hole) which led to a low speed when the vehicle passed by the camera (around 80mph). Full throttle was not hit until after the vehicle passed by me (the operator).
I ended up driving the vehicle out of range while braking which is why I had to walk towards the car in order to drive it back. Keep posted for better video’s in the future which will show radar gun verification as well as a video view of when the car actually passes by the camera at speeds of 130-140mph. This reading is in MPH and not KPH. If you notice I also stopped the running time after the lid was taken off when I go to point at the MPH reading.
Maybe mommy will let you buy a real car…………………..lol
nice run man!!
how much are you selling it for?
One hundred and forty eight miles per hour !! Insaine… For an RC…….
Hey, I would like to know which Leopard motor did you use ? Thanks in
advance !
We will have carbon fiber bodies available in the coming few months. Nice
video. We have been having loose suspension problems . Any thoughts?
That’s faster than my real car
23 Gear and 5000 MAH
what type of motar did u use
hey man nice video make some more videos by the way I do want to buy xo1
what u say in ur experience is it a good car what r cons and pros in it
you need a speed trap or radar gun to be accurate
what batteries do you have in that?
I was into rc car a couple of year ago…it lookin like I might get back in
Dude, that’s very fast!
Nice
in Germany you can buy for 600euro by Modelbau Lindinger
EREVO shocks. The reason why your set-up will not track straight is because
you have to shim the entire suspension due to the excessive slop found on
these cars.
#Respect
i really doubt that was 148mph i would say that was 100mph tops. even
though your gps confirmed it the gps could be having a signal issues, also
what kv motor were you running and what gearing.
Well, don’t sell both of them. Keep one around just in case. 🙂
Please read the comments. When it passed by it was doing about 80mph. Full
throttle was not applied until about 300 ft after it passed by us. You can
clearly hear the engine when full throttle is applied. The vehicle was ran
roughly 1600ft AFTER it passed by us. We have verified these speeds with
several radar guns as well but never got around to making another video.
Castle XL2 esc
that’s good to know..
Anthony, where you been?
Nice 🙂
i havent even bothered unlocking the esc for saftey reasons. I could see
your point at another 40 plus mph you also need distance to slow the sucker
down.
It actually belongs to a buddy of mine. He let me use it because I was
having a hard time seeing my other stock colored bodies.
It’s a buddies shell. We use it because it’s much more visible to see at
high speeds.
Awesome Performance! But terrible paint work! 🙂
Bugatti veyron era lol.
Also, I completely agree with having a better camera angle to actually show
the car at top speeds when it passes by. It is a huge pain to get 4+ people
out and film the runs at this current location. Feel free to message me if
you have any questions and best of luck to you. You will quickly find out
the vehicle’s stock aerodynamics will start to limit you around speeds of
120mph. You should be able to hit speeds much higher than 111mph… my
stock 6s xo1 currnently does that in roughly 800ft
The RC world speed record from Nic Case, that I know of, may have to think
of something faster now that we have 148mph cars. I think his was 161mph
with heavy modified one. Im sorry. 171mph now. He went faster a few months
ago.
how do you do that on ipod
148 is a hefty claim
on 8 cells a 1360 kv motor under load would only turn about 27000 rpm. I
have never been able to make speed using that low of rpm.
That was not 148. I just ran mine almost half throttle and ran 111mph. and
you can clearly see in my video that my car is actually moving at that
speed but in your video i clearly does not show that at all I would say
that you were doing about 80 mph total at best. But that’s my opinion.. I
will have the fastest for sure soon and you will have to admit that that
speed is not right….. SHOW THE GPS DOING 148 MPH
what pinion are you using on the leopard motor ??? thanks
I currently have Nano-Tech 65c/130c and Thunder Power 65c/130c that I run
on the XO1. The 156mph run would have been nice to have on film… but as
I’ve said before it is very difficult to get the perfect run out of this
car due to traffic, weather/wind, road, and other conditions. The car has
just become a giant pain in the ass to run on this public road. There have
been several times that a single successful run would take an excess of 45
minutes to complete. This is mainly due to traffic.
what do you mean by 6s and 8s setup
How the hell do you keep RC cars on the ground at those speeds they should
be flippin and crashin all over the place!!
Its called, aerodynamics bro
Weights in the front (about 1 lb.) And raise the ride height at the rear as
much as you can. Works for me!!!
where did you get your pinion gear??
Though the camera wasnt that focused on the car I could notice that!
damn 148mph is amazing good job!!!!
WHERE DID YOU GET THE CAR FROM AND THE COST OF IT
If anyone is interested in this car, it is up for sale!!! You can contact
me at AVengineering@gmail.com For sale thread is located at
traxxas.com/forums/showthread.php?8993666-FS-AnthonyV-s-148mph-8s-XO1
More and more XO-1’s are coming out with this setup. The truth will be
revealed for those that doubt. I have been assisting another guy with his
and I am working on a slightly different but similar setup. I predict this
summer will be big for the XO-1. Stay tuned you tube viewers, the best is
yet to come!
And for speeds of 130-148mph, I am speaking in relation to the actual
distance that I drive the vehicle at this chosen testing location.
Obviously, if you were to have the vehicle fully throttled at a constant
148mph steadily for a 1/2 mile then the GPS would give you both accurate
and precise results. As you pointed out, sampling rate plays a huge factor
when clocking a vehicle like this. This is why we have invested in several
radar guns that are all properly calibrated.
Yep… that’s me on the forum. If you are still looking to buy a XO1 I
actually am selling my 6s xo1. Stock pinion will do low 100’s and larger
will do 109mph. Drop me a line at AVengineering@gmail.com if you’re
interested in it. All of the issues that come from the factory have already
been fixed and it’s ready to run.
