RC RACE WARS: DHK Hunter BL vs Tower Hobbies Cutback SCT
Here’s a bit of fun I had with a good friend of mine racing around the BMX track with the Tower Hobbies Cutback SCT and the DHK Hunter BL SCT. Both of these trucks were pretty stock and were on 2S only. To me they seemed pretty well matched and the winner was really based on driver skill, however, they felt quite different when driving them.

Thanks for watching. 🙂

Omg, your buddy is the shortcut king!!! You need a few cones to set the
boundaries imo. The trucks do seem pretty evenly matched, the tires on the
DHK are terrible is that loose dry fine dirt.

KevinMillard68 says:

cool stuff man

Crimetimegamez says:

Nice! I stayed up till 1am to watch 🙂

Matt Phipps says:

Ill stick with the hunter I still have mine and have yet to break anything
with the right tires and setup it could be a decent race truck

one85db says:

Why are companies adding sound systems onto hobby-grade RCs. That is
something that I would expect from a toy RC.

XtremeRC says:

Awesome job Aussie ur vids are great

AlansRC World says:

+Aussie RC Playground That was one of the best races I think you guys have
done!! Your friend seems to has improved on racing against you which made
this video so much fun to watch!!!!! Awesome job Guys!! I so glad that you
was able to get that cutback SCT truck to improve on the performance!! I
would said that the DHK SCT has the Win, but not by much!!!!

DHK Hunter is best in my eyes just little care and modification and its
super blast …i tried to purchase one from Asiatess but no luck for me i
had bad experience with them.

Glenn Browning says:

I think with a different set of tires on the Hunter it would walk away from
the cutback.Looks like you had alot of fun w/ this one.Another GREAT vid.
bud.

RC Unrivalled says:

For the next one, TALION VS KRATON would be awesome ;)

EVERYDAY RC says:

Ehsan Al-Salem says:

Great episode, lots of fun just watching it. Another big thumbs up.

The Hunter’s right rear wheel in the end scene seems pointing inwards
towards the chassis….or I’m getting really old & seeing things.

Lots of enjoyment nevertheless. Cheers.

morey92 says:

That was cool, lots of action and a shitload of fun had.

Scott Walsh says:

That looked like alot of fun!

eric deherrera says:

These keep a smile on my face the whole video!! Thinking you need to bring
out some “traffic cone” type things for turn indicators to keep it a little
more even keel! Love these!

heeelmooi says:

Couldn’t stop smiling while watching this video. The sound system added a
lot to the video I thought. Definitely keep doing the race wars. Makes me
want to get an SCT.

Adam Dincher says:

Have you put diff oil in the hunter? I have a DHK wolf with a castle system
which has the same diffs as the hunter but idk if I should oil and grease
the diffs. I you have what weights did you use?

Henry Bennett says:

Could you do more races

Carlo Russo says:

Hi Vas, great video. Every race wars is a lot of fun but this was really
epic 😀

I’m not a SCT fan, they really don’t appeal me but if I have to choose one
of this two from this and the other videos of your channel, I think I would
get the Hunter. Anyway from this race wars they seems evenly matched.

Going off-topic I have to say that my Kraton 6S finally arrived today. I’ve
got the blu version; it’s really awesome. The e-mta g2 is still a nice
truck but the Kraton is so beautiful that I feel sorry to drive it in the
dirt 😀 . Hope to drive it soon but it’s raining a lot this day and
probably I will wait some day to drive it.

Going off-topic another time 😀 …after like 50 packs and a month of use
(and abuse) I have to report the first breakage of my e-mta g2. The servo
is gone 🙁 but I feel anyway satisfied from what this truck have gived to
me in the meantime.

Now i’m searching for a substitute and my merchant say that a good choice
would be a “Sanwa ERS 962 waterproof”. Do you have some advice on which
servo to get?
Honestly I was happy with the stock servo on stock tires but now the tires
are getting old and I have to change it and maybe with some larger tires
the ACE DS1510MG will be no good (and than there’s the question on
reliability; I don’t want to change the servo once a month).

I can get the stock servo for 40€ and the Sanwa for 90€. What do you think?

Thanks if you can get the time to reply and sorry for my bad english.

shadowpenguin2 says:

Hi can u do a review on the latrax sst

Ryan Dorman says:

the dhk looks pretty good, looks like it will handle much better than a
cutback, just needs tires. Any glaring durability issue’s with either one
yet?

Parker Plays LP says:

I just got a hobby king nc mini basher for my birth day in jan and I have
been complaining to hobby king and they said that they would sent me a new
one a month a go and I still have no truck so… Can I have some advice? I
also have a traxxas Teton and a stampede keep up the great vids

Andreas Jonsson says:

Is this car/cars something for a noob to start RC:ing?

G J Carr says:

RC AMATEUR Romania says:

Will you ever get in the nitro or gas rc cars scene?

pecky38 says:

As long as you have fun with it who cares good video vas

htimsda says:

We bought 3 Cutbacks in December when they were on sale. Got them for
about $212 shipped each. We run these with a Team Associated SC8, which is
a little bigger, but much heavier. We went with the Cutbacks because of
the 2 year parts replacement.

We put these things through the ringer each week. We do a mix of oval
racing on asphalt and “tag” on loose dirt. Obviously when playing tag, the
goal is to hit other cars. And even when racing, it is just as much about
taking out other cars as is it is beating them around the track. And
there’s a number of full speed collisions with curbs each week. Yes, the
shocks leak on the Cutback, but other than that, it has served us very
well. This last week, after many brutal weeks, was the first time we had
to test out the free parts replacement. Two shocks “fell apart” on my
truck, and a stripped servo and cracked rear bumper on a second truck. The
shocks fall apart because the nut holding the shock shaft in place comes
off, causing the shaft to come out of the shock body, and damage the body
in the process. This happened to the RC Saylors too.

Anyway, Tower’s “Hobby Services” was fantastic, sending out all new parts,
no questions asked. We are very happy with our Cutbacks, and the warranty.
Hopefully they improve the shocks though.
