Can you do a multirotor beginner series?
why do so many people praise Spektrum radios? To me, it’s so overpriced
Ok, to flight a 3d heli, how many channels transmitter I need?
For a beginner, I bought the HK6S from HobbyKing, excellent transmitter,
1KM+ range.
For more advanced features, the Taranis X9D Plus is excellent! Rechargeable
battery, telemetry, and all knobs and switches can be assigned to whatever
you want :)
When I first started in R/C, the transmitters were on 27mhz, between the 23
CB channels. A simple transmitter had an on/off switch, and a push button
to send out a tone. One press gave you right, press/release/press & hold =
left. My 1st TX had tubes in it, and required a big 1.5 v battery for the
heaters in the tubes, and three 67.5 volt batteries for the high voltage.
After many years and many systems, I wound up with digital proportional
radios on 72 mhz .. which I still have (but haven’t used in some years). I
found your video to be very informative … now I’m sort of back up to
speed!
what is the typical range of 2.4 Ghz systems?

Found a part of my problem, I’ve been using a flight simulator and got lazy
with preflight checks. I now check before every take off both on the sim
and in real life. I think it’s a good habit to develop.
Don”t some RTF come with their own receivers? How does a transmitter say
FrSky connect to on of those receivers?
Okay, so say that you get a 6 ch. transmitter……What happens as far as
the range? Do you connect the transmitter to a ground station as one that
is used in FPV so extend the range of the plane? OR is the ground station
for the range of the camera?
For all of you noobs just get something like a dx6i, or I recommend a dx6
(new) it has way more features and works with all bind and flys and if you
are scratch building get some cheap orange rc (dsm2 or dsmx) receivers not
worth going for the real receivers except for planes that you care more
for. If you are a tinkerer/bulder get spekrum, computerised radio. People
will convince you that other bands are better but it is all personal
preference. To buy a radio and have some fun!!
how many models can the Spektrum 5-channel DX5e hold
Very good explanation of DR & Expo… was one of the toughest things to
learn when i started.
I had an interesting experience today, I took my plane and transmitter and
promptly crashed on take off damaging my plane. The aileron and rudder
controls on my DX6i had reverse! The plane is in hospital… the shed, and
I can’t imagine how this happened as no “playing around” had occurred
between the simulator and the flying field. I’m a beginner, and could not
work it out until I got home and realized the problem via the simulator!
By the way, I failed the preflight check…Dah!
Hey Flite test I bought one of the transmitters on your parts list and it
came with a receiver. I can’t find out how to link the two could you
possible make a video or just tell me how?

Hi, I really like all your videos! The other day i got a fpv monitor,
wonderfull piece of equipment, anymay, i unboxed it and plugged in the
battery, sadly then i realized i just forgot to mount the antennas on top

The main reason to buy a dumb non computerised radio is price.
But this argument is invalid since radios like the Tunigy 9X(R) and FrSky
Taranis exist.
The only reason I can see for dumb radios is that someone would not want to
get into programming (you are wrong. It’s worth it) or want the simplicity
(why?.

How do I find out what distances I can achieve with radios and receivers?
Finding information on exchangeable modules in radios and types of
receivers that have different antennas, proves hard. I see reviews about
quality and what you can do with it but finding information about how the
components work and the compatibly is hard to find
Now I feel old. Still using my Hitec 72mhz transmitters for my three
planes. And I want to buy some of the bind n fly planes that are out now
but only have a 2.4ghz that came with my blade heli. Anyone know if the
mini war birds would bind to that remote?
For what it’s worth… do not buy a Spektrum brand radio. Yes, it’s
generally beginner friendly and cheap choice, but it’s underlying tech is
simply unreliable compared to other frequency hopping systems. Get Futaba,
Hitec or Multiplex radio instead, far more reliable. More expensive
receivers ARE WORTH YOUR MONEY! Spektrum receivers are hugely overpriced,
don’t be fooled.
Also, you (or at least intermediate pilots) should not get a radio with
less than 6 channels. If you already know you’re serious about RC and want
to fly more complicated planes or helicopters in the future, grab an 8 (or
9) channel radio like the Hitec Aurora. Invest in a GOOD radio. It will
REALLY save you money.
It’s not true that transmitters in the past couldn’t communicate with
different receivers. They used crystals that have to match in number both
in the receiver and transmitter, but that didn’t limit the amount of
aircraft or even kind of aircraft you could control with these older
transmitters. I used to have a lot of crystals for my receivers that would
match my old 35mhz and 72mhz systems. The only thing it did NOT have, was
some kind of memory to store various ‘tweaks’ to my setup (back in the day,
usually those non-digital trims).
Also, it’s really somewhat inaccurate to state that 72Mhz gives a ‘much
longer range’ in practice. What good is a slightly longer range when it’s a
lot more vulnerable to all kinds of interference? 72Mhz these days is a
definite no-go in urban areas.
I’m an Alien from the planet Guzbuliah. Thanks to my advanced telepathic
abilities I am able to fly all types of aircraft with no radios whatsoever.
I carry a 7 channel Futaba around at the field, but there are no batteries
in it! Someday humans may evolve this ability but I doubt it.

which is the cheapest transmitter that comes with a LCD display to view
camera in real time? also, can one transmitter be used for helicopters and
planes?
