3 channels are more or less useless. Blade is overpriced and in some models
for no reason. If you REALLY want to get a 3ch then get a syma 107g, still
boring and you can get parts and, there 20 bucks

Michael lee Bacon says:

Get a V911 4 channel to start out with..fantastic bang for the ££££ and
fly’s better than many other more expensive helicopters out there..

DA_ASIAN_AUSTRALIAN! says:

The v911 is fantastic

Eric Tabares says:

Thank you for making this video. When I wanted to get into RC helicopterd
there was alot of misinformation online and from manufacturers. You
explained it a way that everyone would understand and could hopefully make
an educated decision when making their purchase.

Alain Pascal Routhier says:

Branden, where is section 2 -3 -4 of this great series? you started with
the big box vs 3-4 channels ok, what is next? how about brush less vs brush
motor? fp vs cp*? I love the way you made this video how about a set of
‘incremental’ videos? I really enjoyed what you did! but would like to go
deeper so I do not buy something over my ability and enjoyment. I am
working toward a recreational pilot licence, I fly rc plane and glider… I
want to try Heli. I think 2 or 3 videos from you would cover most levels,
(i do think I would enjoy something more challenging then 3 channels) then
maybe a video on quality brands… who produces quality heli vs economy and
how to tell? finally maybe a video of what to choose as a newbie, a med or
an advance… if you want scale or 3d action? you have a great opportunity
for a serie here. stick with the style you have in this first toy grade vs
hobby grade format. well done!

Ron Felix says:

You’re explanation was good! The first 2 flights with my Heli-Max Axe 100ss
were wild in a 3 to 7 mph wind! It would cost me $ $10 my first flight & 15
on my second! Haha! Now fear of spending money makes me a good pilot! Lol

Todd Verdin says:

No I can’t buy part but I could buy 12 for the price of a hobby grade
one…

TheBomb Fthirteen says:

Got my 3 channel syma s107g off amazon for 17$, actually like it. Really
cheap and enjoyable. It cant go side to side like the 4 channel but its
still fun to fly it through small gaps and what not :D

Rabiya Khan says:

Can’t watch play mine craft

jeff britt says:

Don’t kno exactly when this video was made, but you can go to Amazon .com
and get choppers from around 16.00 US (for instance:SYMA S107G 3.5 channel)
to around 50-60 US(for instance:WL TOYS V912 4 channel ) and up ,as well as
replacement parts,chargers,extra battery’s and easy return/replacement
policy!

Ranul Ranepura says:

thoughts on the v911? just ordered one

BALLOON!!! says:

If you are new and on the market for a helicopter look up Syma s107g, Syma
f3, Wltoys v911 and Wltoys v912.

Gregory Day says:

What is a good helicopter to buy from Walmart or target my son and I are
just getting into the hobby also how long do the batteries usually last

Sonia Barry says:

the problem is that if you get a hobby grade rc helicopter it is cheaper to
get a new toy helicopter than to get parts from a hobby shop if you want
cheep rc helis cars and planes go to hobbyking:0

SgtBFGunner says:

Who makes the P40 Warhawk behind you??? Looks nice.

Jacob Kerlin says:

My first two helis were Air Hogs, the little 2 channel one with throttle
and left/right tail spin and the 3 channel one with a tail rotor for foward
and back. Truth be told, I actually kind of like them both 🙂 they’re both
fun in their own right, and the two channel guy is really a challenge to
control! Idk. I think they’re fun. My CYMA and Blade are awesome too though
;)

Zouloum says:

I got a Syma F3 4ch FP for 40$ off the internet on amazon and it has
replacement parts. 120$ for a 3-4ch micro heli is ridiculously overpriced.
Heck, you can get 6ch CP rc helis for that price. Don’t beleive me? Check

Andre A says:

Hello everyone! i am thinking of buying the TRIUMPH 3-CHANNEL
INDOOR/OUTDOOR R/C HELICOPTER is it worth it? is it a reliable and good
heli?

thankss

shabear1000 says:

i have the EXTREME S-3.5G and i also had the blade. i gave the blade away
because the EXTREME in my opinion is 10 times the chopper the blade is. i
can buy parts for it all day long and it performs every bit as well (if not
better) as the blade. my EXTREME has the prop on the back and in a dog
fight with the blade, the EXTREME just flat out kicked the blades ass.

Edgar Kraychik says:

What you’d recommend as a good indoor/outdoor helicopter and purely outdoor
one? Thank you!

mqa1963 says:

looks to me like there all toys… some just cost alot more and do more. i
guess it comes down to how much money you can or want to spend on ur
hobby.

dahorseyguy says:

my hobby grad has a tal ruter

Jacob Kerlin says:

Do you work at a private Hobby Town in Wisconsin?

CrowdPleeza says:

I’m just getting interested in these radio controlled products. What are
some of the top brands out there for the cars, boats and the different
flying ones?

jennifer policarpo says:

Jam-Sam-Rabbit -Films says:

Cool

Chris Lucas says:

Great video thanks mate

ProGamer1515 says:

I got the Protocol Predator SB, it is 3.5CH hell. Does anyone know how to
upgrade to 4CH? if it isn’t possible do you know of a decent 4CH hobby
grade helm? My return period isn’t up yet.

The1Shadow323 says:

Syma f3 or wl v911?

joshbm19 says:

I agree, good video for someone who’s new to the RC world. As for you turds
that are complaining about what the man said, you have to realize that this
video was posted over 2 years ago, and the rc market has advanced. Duh!

Anton Maro says:

this video uploaded 2011 year =) but it’s great, thank you, it’s very help
me, i just bought helicopter in 7 eleven store just for fun, but it’s not
what i looking for, so now i know what i want =)

Oscar Robben says:

I have a Double Horse 9053, wich is a pretty big helicopter. It cost’s
about $53 on amazon and you can buy replacement parts for it.

Hamid Ghazi says:

What about the range in which they could be under control?

irwin Sikha says:

I have a model king and it does have the fan in the back and I do not know
if it has a gyro but its steady it also has 4 channels it is enough for me
but I would like a blade mcx2 rtf I think its time to upgrade and get the
thingy without the little fan kk?

Eugene Lego says:

Is a fire wolf heli from xheli.com is a hobby grade

mute333tard says:

so is the syma S107g considered a toy helicopter or a hobby grade
helicopter? cause i bought it on amazon for like $16 and you can modify it
and replace parts on it.

Vincent Mazzaferro says:

I have a small 3 channel helicopter. Now its no comparison to my large
outdoor helicopters, but I was wondering if it counts as a hobby grade
helicopter? To start, it has 3 channels, there are spear parts for it, and
it is made out of a sturdy metal structure. The only catch is, I got it for
roughly $20. And also, it can fly outdoors. Thanks for the help!

Yvonne Patricia O'Brien says:

How does the question of whether it has IR or RF control affect the
decision of whether its hobby grade or toy grade?

Luke Fosburg says:

Good info!

TinyHeli says:

So many noobs

duckow1 says:

BTW you can get a lemon any time. As for me I like the service that comes
with Blade Heli’s and while I had a couple of problems they were fixed
quickly. One Heli was replaced – no questions asked. That’s why I now own
8 BLADE helis. I did have a bunch of “serious” toy grade helis – they were
some fun for awhile – but once I needed service or parts the fun was over.
Get a hobby grade heli and enjoy the hobby – I do

imaminecraftdude2 says:

What is 3.5ch does anyone know?

John Westerlund says:

awesome thanks’!

Todd Smith says:

While he is clearly knowledgeable, he is also guard it that he works at a
hobby shop and sells the higher grade models. I have recently purchased a 3
and a 3.5 channel coptors and the trail fan blade DOES work fine and IS
quite responsive. Of EVERY point he made, the one I liked most was the
battery topic. Now both my “toy grade” have manuals with how to order AND
replace the battery. However, having multiple fully charged baits rat to go
WOULD be great AND would keep the recharge process from draining the AA’s
in your control. I am still new to the mini-heli world and who knows, maybe
someday it my be worthwhile for me to step into a “hobbyist” level device.
But for now I’m shiny to my TWO coptors that combined cost less than the
ONE he showed us. All in all, though, informative, albeit biased video.

wreek havok says:

Very nice video. I live in Canada and I purchased Blade products and found
them to be the worst heli’s ever made. They had poor service, every model I
owned gave me problems. I owned , MCX2, MCP, BLADE120, MCX, CX2. I had the
DX7 controller, anyway, I had about $1000.00 tied up in them and after long
letters to blade and countless phone calls I sold every Blade heli
altogether for $500.00 I didn’t have 1 good flight from any of these
models,,,there GARBAGE I buy syma now and no prob

duckow1 says:

I generally like your reviews, but you are wrong about the Scout’s turning
ability. It will make nice smoth circles and turns in forward and backward
flight. The ability to bank the MCx2 is really nice, but not necessary for
smooth turns. FYI I own both of them as well as as Quads , fixed pitch and
collective pitch birds. The Scout is a nice little heli for “trying out”
the hobby. I do however recommend the MCx2 for anybody who wants to a stay
in the hobby because the controls are the same as more advanced birds. The
advantage over toygrade is the fact that you get 2.4ghz controllers instead
of the horribble infrared. All my birds are Blade brand – they are great,
service is excellent and I wonder why people feel the need to complain. If
anyone claims to have problems with ALL their Blade birds I begin to
wonder……going from Blade back to Syma?????Sheeeeeeesh!!!!

rcflyer40plus1 says:

Well done. Toy planes /helis can be an entry point to the hobby and that’s
great actually – it’s how I got started. If you get a little more serious
then parts, support, batteries, mods become more important.

halleffect1 says:

V911 is not hobby grade but you can get parts for it all day long. And its
a heck of a lot more durable than my 120sr.

Dan Falbo says:

Excellant. I’ll refer friends that are interested in r/c to your video. I
always advise them not to buy toy grade r/c product, this will help explain
why. Good Job.
