The Traxxas Slash is now offered with On-Board Audio, which adds genuine 900-horsepower sound effects to the popular short-course machine. The sound is recorded from an actual Pro 4 race truck, and it’s loud–just watch the video.

LETMEHAVETOPCOMMENT says:

Nitro is still better

ColdTurkey G says:

Traxxas is transforming into Toys R Us junk.

RC Marty says:

That thing would be funny as heck in a Wraith :-)

The Phantoms Guest Guitar Channel says:

+TOJO RC have a listen to this brother, shits all over the ess-one!

clawair says:

LOL, I KNOW WHERE THIS GUY FILMED THIS!!!!!! ITS AT DALLAS, IN NORBUCK
PARK!!!! OMG I GO THERE!!!! LOL

Review Guy says:

Im sorry but there is no way electric can satisfy a nitro enthusiast. I
know now days electric trucks and cars have much more potential than nitro.
but nitro is the most involved part of the hobby. Nothing like tuning your
engine to the perfect running performance. I’ve driven brushless and very
fast rc’s but even though they are so fast the experience is dull to me.
Its like they just lack the true fun a nitro gives.

just seems like traxxas hasn’t released a new nitro vehicle in along time
and they know people want to see another nitro model but they rather just
record a real truck and put it in a basic slash and sell it for much more
than the regular slash.

smilO legamer says:

the speakers are waterproof ?

Hal 9000 says:

Two questions:
1.Is there a way to deactivate the sound?
2. Will the speaker drain the battery faster?

Jameson Hurlbut says:

Okay first off nitro is cool but no where near as good as brushless ive ran
both for years nitro cars and trucks are just money pits theres always
something wrong with them dont you buy an rc car to drive it and race it
not adjust something every five minutes I think this is definitely cool
though ive been trying to find a good engine sound module for a while my
only problem with it is that they should make it so it has a few engine
sounds like many others on the market

Chester Copperpot says:

I see two problems with this…kids showing up at the track and blasting
the sound. And those speakers won’t last long after a few hard crashes.

Perry Farewell says:

Well in my humble opinion i think its kinda cool, that whirling electric
motor sound is annoying to me, so a real engine sound would be OK
especially if you can adjust volume and have the option to turn it on and
off, and if they would offer more than one sound, such as diesel, v8 off
road, on road ,etc. now that would be the cats ass.

clawair says:

This guy is at norbuck park dallas TX!!!! OMG I RUN ALL OF MY TRACK MEETS
THERE!!!!!

5goodfellas says:

Traxxas is trying to attract 3 year olds, not a cool affect man, makes the
truck more like a kids toy in my opinoun

The Phantoms Guest Guitar Channel says:

the ess-one is too digital, and if you turn it up, it distorts bad!

xxgg says:

Cool, hope something will be able to modify and replace the engine sound to
use with Rock Crawlers.

sorryociffer says:

I’ve heard one in person, inside a hobby shop, it is really impressive,
it’s very loud and life like, the video does not do the sound justice. I
think it’s the twin speakers that really help over the ess-1 ‘ single
speaker.

Octavio Roso says:

what is that shit toys r” us traxxas version lol really stupid.

TEXHO3OHA says:

Now this is more like a Toys R Us product although it may help get younger
generaation involved in the hobby. Now as a newbie to RC world and as grown
ass man I would not buy this. I’d rather get similar kit/RTR without sound
unit.

Rick Duncan says:

Well Traxxas certainly knows what sells but it’s not my thing. Still
innovative.

Weslee Schneider says:

Can you play music on that audio system?

Axizz Rcfan5 says:

I like Traxxas a lot. I own three Traxxas models. This doesn’t seem really
like…good. This doesn’t make the car perform better, and to be honest, I
kinda like having my car silent, or have the original nitro sound. I still
do respect Traxxas and all, but I’d never get the on-board audio. It isn’t
an upgrade really…just an annoyance. It does seem cool, but I think it’d
be cool for making videos. I’d rather spend my money for good worthy parts
that will make my cars stronger, faster, and better. I don’t know what to
say to be honest…

we bleed rc says:

Traxxas, my old friend, we’ve had our ups an downs over the years….i
loved the stampede when i was 13. Got serious and raced with a rustler.
Bashed a bandit or two in my grandmas back yard, and spent my rent money on
a 4×4 slash…watched a vxl go up in smoke, cleaned a brushed motor with a
can of coke… and now i see that you’ve developed an onboard sound system.
The only thing that comes to mind is , thanks again traxxas. Lifelong
memories now have a soundtrack.

starvinhittman says:

I have 1/5 scale vehicles and converted them to brushless. Much cleaner and
much better performers. I don’t miss the gas smell, don’t miss the constant
tuning, and I don’t miss the dirt and oils. I really miss the engine noise.
It’s about time traxxas. BIG UPS to you! Now let’s make them controllably
louder for the 1/5 scales.

Patrick Nugent says:

I am not saying sorry . I seen anyone with this piece of shit on there care
around me I would A .Laugh at them until I shit my pant . B Ask them is
they also sit down to piss. C ask them if they do alot of pillow biting in
there spare time . This is a garbage produce . If you put this on your
supposed hobby grade rc your setting the movement back like 20 years.

Matt Fisher says:

got to play with this truck the other day and i must say its really loud
and accurate, im almost 25 and i would love to own one

Chester Copperpot says:

Did you guys at the office laugh about this when it was first announced?
You guys did use something similar as an April Fools Joke in last years
issue. I’m sorry, but this just makes Traxxas look more like a toy company.

RichieD088 says:

I would love if me and the guys running SCmod 4×4 class at our indoor track
were to install and run our qualifiers and mains with these..,just on a
club race nite, maybe one nite a month..,or just even one time! Imagine if
a heads up was sent out and everyone could watch it scheduled on
LiveRC…hehehe! What a trip! How hot we run, it would be wicked!!.. peace

Shaun Chilcote says:

i don’t see why everybodies getting mad. the soul purpose of rc cars was
“to create realistic racing vehicles on a much smaller scale”. so i
personally believe traxxas is taking a step in the right direction.

Lorbugoth says:

Impressive sound ! May it be possible to get only the onboard audio with
the speakers ? I would like to mount it on my Slash 4×4 VXL.

OverlyAttached Bean says:

so they ditched bf goodrich tires? added an shitty esc doesnt even have a
heatsink and added speakers? doesnt that seem toyish?

Sean Butler says:

With the onboard audio, it just turns it into a really expensive kids toy.
Its not for me, unless I was an 8 year old, to be honest. Plus, I like the
sound of the electric motor more.

mickvk says:

I think this is a move to appeal to entry level, first time buyers, and
people who play using their imagination. While that’s not why I run cars,
I think it’s good for the hobby overall.

BRMN8R says:

Waterproof huh? I wonder if it sounds like an outboard if you submerse it
in water…

hpiguy says:

That sounds like it will leave a lot of people in a park annoyed and get RC
banned from even more places.

Trevor O'Connor says:

I see it as just one more thing Traxxas can use to make you pay out the
ass. Sorry but I don’t think I’ll ever buy another traxxas.

Court Mojo says:

LOVE IT!!!!! what a great idea
